Tiger & Bunny Set 2 (BD)

Hailed as the heroes who saved Stern Bild, Kotetsu and Barnaby face a volley of media attention that includes their learning how to dance! Then, Kotetsu deals with his conflicted feelings about continuing as Wild Tiger and visits his hometown to spend time with his family. He tries to discuss his feelings with Barnaby, but when a possible new lead comes up, Kotetsu gives his full attention to helping Barnaby find the murderer of his parents.

Amazon.com As the rambunctious sci-fi adventure-comedy Tiger & Bunny (2011) continues, crime-fighting heroes Kotetsu "Wild Tiger" Kaburagi and Barnaby "Bunny" Brooks Jr. have settled into a comfortable and effective partnership. They've become so popular with fans, they appear on talk shows, dub voices for anime characters, and pose for a swimsuit calendar. But Kotetsu faces a daunting series of interlocking crises. The "Next" powers that enable him to function as a superhero seem to be fading with age; his daughter Kaede, who has begun to manifest powers of her own, resents her father's prolonged absence at a job he keeps hidden. His mother, who looks after Kaede, and his older brother, who runs the family liquor store, lose patience with him. The murder of his parents continues to haunt Barnaby, and the solution to that crime--which brought the first half of the series to a close--unravels, leaving major questions unresolved. Director Keiichi Satou and his crew pump up the visuals as the story takes a more dramatic turn, skillfully introducing rapid cutting, brilliant colors, and snazzy CG effects: many big-budget Hollywood features can't match these high-energy fights and chases. Like all good heroes, Kotetsu and Barnaby come through in the nick of time, but Satou keeps the audience wondering whether they'll make it or not. Although Tiger & Bunny only ran for one season, the characters proved so popular, they returned in the feature The Beginning (2012), and a sequel, The Rising, is slated for release in fall 2013.
