Virginia Meadowbeauty is a 2’ to 3’ tall native perennial with four-angled and slightly winged stems. It features short terminal cymes of 1” to 2” wide flowers with 4 pale pink petals and distinctive drooping yellow anthers. This plant prefers moist to wet soils and full sun or part shade. Virginia Meadowbeauty is a good bog garden or water feature plant, but may be difficult to establish due to the small size of the seed. The unusual urn shaped seed capsule adds to the attraction of this plant for gardeners. Virginia Meadow Beauty is pollinated mostly by bumble bees.
