About aquarium testing Regular testing of your drinking water will help you to identify harmful contaminants which may be present and allows appropriate action to be taken to maintain a healthy environment for your fish and other marine life. Regular water testing also allows early detection of other less obvious conditions such as over (i.e. overfeeding, overcrowding etc.) and allows early remedial action to be taken. About test kit ?This kit contains 150 test strips specifically developed by Swiss LabsTM for testing the suitability of Aquarium water, it can be used for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. The strips chemically react (change colour) when they come into contact with water containing sufficient quantities of any of the testable substances (see below). What can be tested? The following chemical parameters can be tested using this kit: Chlorine Nitrite Nitrate General Hardness (GH) Carbonate Hardness (KH) Alkalinity pH How to use This kit is very easy to use and allows a complete test of your aquarium water to be performed. Within 1 minute of being dipped into water the strips will react (change colour) if significant quantities of the above listed chemicals are present. The test strip is then simply compared to the corresponding items on the colour chart provided to determine the quantities for each testable parameter.
