A renegade Jedi and master swordsman, Count Dooku is a powerful leader. Known throughout the galaxy as a political idealist, the once prominent Jedi became disillusioned with the Republic and felt that the Jedi betrayed themselves by serving the politicians. Dooku abandoned the Jedi Order and disappeared for nearly ten years before recently emerging as leader of the Separatist movement.
