Purple Podded Pole Bean - 25 Seeds

(Phaseolus vulgaris) Heirloom variety rediscovered by Henry Fields in the 1930's. Six-foot vines produce buckets of tender 5-7" purple snap beans. If kept picked, plants will continue to produce right up until frost. Lovely purple beans are easy to spot on the plant and have a built-in blanch indicator—they turn green when cooked! 68 days to harvest. 25 seeds/pkt. CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds 4-6" apart, 1" deep in rows 24-36" apart. Plants require trellising. Under ideal conditions, germination will occur in 7-10 days. For highest yield, harvest regularly. Avoid touching plants while leaves are wet as this can spread disease.
