ProHealth Slow Release Vitamin C _1_500 mg_ 90 Tablets_

Slow Release Vitamin C is formulated to release a full 1,500 mg of Vitamin C gradually over a period of up to 8 hours. The release of Vitamin C will begin within 30 minutes of ingestion of the tablet and will continue until fully released. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has numerous biological functions. Foremost, it is essential for the synthesis of collagen and glycosaminoglycans which are the building materials of all connective tissues, such as skin, blood vessels, tendons, joint cartilage and bone. Vitamin C is the required coenzyme for two groups of enzymes that catalyze the crosslinking of collagen fibers - lysyl hydroxylases and prolyl hydroxylases.
