Judging by looks, it might seem obvious how to use this tool, but it just doesn't work that way. If you try to remove a paver with one hard tug, the paver will only tilt and stick. Paver Claw is a patented paver extractor tool AND patented extraction method. You MUST use the tool and the method together. We have a couple bad reviews we did not deserve from people who don't read instructions. Every paver installation is different, so please read ALL the instructions and tips to make sure it will work with your unique paver installation BEFORE you buy it. NOTE: A stiff 1.5 inch wide putty knife (not included) may be needed for clearing hardened sand from paver joints to make inserting Claws easier. This tool was designed for interlocking pavers set on sand with sand joints. Paver Claw is not for use on pavers set on solid surfaces or with solid joints. It will also work with plain bricks and cut stones provided there is 1/32 to 1/8 inch of space between them to allow for insertion of Claws.
