A leafy green vegetable with stems in colors yellow, pink, red, orange, purple, white, and green. The leaves are always green and are added to the salads. Start seeds 2 to 3 weeks before the last expected frost when the soil temperature is 50-85°F. Soak seeds overnight before planting for better germination Sow seeds ½- 1 inch deep, 2-6 inches apart, in rows 18-24 apart into loose soil in an area with full sun to partial shade. Once the plants are 2 inches tall thin to 6- to 12-inch spacings. Keep the soil moist.
