Matters of Life and Death (2007)

Matters of Life and Death marks the directorial debut of actor Joseph Mazzello (Jurassic Park, Simon Birch, The River Wild). Mazzello collaborates with actress Rachael Leigh Cook, Academy Award nominee David Strathairn, actor Daniel Gillies, and newcomer Nick Heyman in this straightforward, emotionally honest film. There was no planning, no warning, not even a real will. After the unexpected death of their parents, siblings David (Mazzello), Emily (Cook), and Jon (Heyman) desperately try to maintain control of their lives, forced into adulthood by a national tragedy. They are left alone, overwhelmed by their individual grief, struggling to mend the broken remains of their family. The 31 minute short film includes a collectible mini movie poster insert card along with additional special features including: DTS & Dolby Digital soundtracks, 1.85 Widescreen presentation, and commentary from Director Joseph Mazzello and Producer Michael Breines.
