Cardiac muscle is found only in the heart and is involuntarily controlled. Like skeletal muscle, the fibers are striated, however they only contain one nucleus per fiber. Cardiac muscle also contains intercalated discs which allow for undeviated eletrical connection between two muscle fibers. This is essential for heart contractions.
