You will be receiving 1 plant between 3 & 8 inches in a 3 inch deep pot. Receive a FREE sample of Wellspring Gardens' proprietary fertilizer blend (one per order)! The fruit this variety produces is a closed eye fruit that is medium-sized, long and turbinate. The skin color is glossy dark purple with a reddish tint. Light amber to light strawberry-colored pulp. A heavy main crop is produced in July followed by a later crop that often lasts into December. The mild flavor is good, and the fruit has high sugar content. Suited to the Southeastern US. It is of the common variety of fig meaning it does not require pollination or another plant to develop and mature fruit. Our plants are between 3 to 8 inches in height, but during dormancy they can be a bit shorter considering leaves make up some of the plant's height. Overview: Average mature height: 8 - 10 feet. | Soil: Will not tolerate excessively wet soil but needs ample moisture during fruiting. | Light: Full sun. | Zones: 7 - 10. | Can be grown indoors. | In the fall and winter, figs ship dormant with no leaves. The leaves will re-emerge in spring. Our figs are grown by tissue culture from mature cells, which is a superior method that produces healthier plants that can fruit much sooner than if they were grown by seed. None of our figs are grown from seed; the narrow stems indicate that they are grown from this premium tissue culture method and within months can grow large and robust.
