When Johnny Meaker moseyed on down to the Lazy-J Ranch house after a hard day of herding cattle and breakin’ in broncs, he wanted nothing more than a delicious, traditional, body-warming meal that would fill his heart and keep sweat on his brow. Layering in two types of beans, the sweetness of bell peppers, and firey heat of a southwestern pepper, Johnny’s Lazy-J Chili was born, and the legend was soon shared over each delicious bowl after another.
