W5500 chip is an embedded Ethernet controller using all-hardware TCP/IP protocol stack, which enables embedded systems to easily connect to the network through SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) interface. W5500 is composed of the integration of all hardware TCP/IP protocol stack, Ethernet network layer and physical layer. Its full hardware TCP/IP protocol stack supports TCP, UDP, IPv4, ICMP, ARP, IGMP and PPPoE protocols. The W5500 uses a 32KB cache as its data communication memory. By using W5500, users can implement Ethernet applications by using a simple socket program instead of dealing with a complex Ethernet controller. SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) provides an interface for easy connection with external MCU. W5500 supports communication between SPI interfaces up to 80MHZ. In order to reduce the consumption of system power, W5500 provides network wake-up and sleep modes. W5500 will wake up when it receives a magic packet in the form of a raw Ethernet packet. Supports hardware TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4, ARP, IGMP, PPPoE and Ethernet Supports 8 independent ports Provide sleep mode Provide network wake-up Supports high-speed SPI bus (SPI mode 0,3) Internal 32K byte memory as TX/RX cache Embedded 10/100Mbps Ethernet Physical Layer Support automatic negotiation (10/100-Based full duplex/half duplex) IP segmentation is not supported 3.3V working voltage, I/O port can withstand 5V voltage Multiple indicator signal output (full duplex/half duplex mode, network connection and network speed) Module pin arrangement function: 3.3V:3.3V power input pin. 5V:5V power input pin MISO:SPI host input slave output pin GND: Power ground pin MOSI:SPI Host Output Slave Input Pin RST:W5500 Hardware Initialization Pin (Active Low) SCS:SPI SLAVE select pin (active low) INT:W5500 interrupt pin (active low) SCLK:SPI clock pin NC: hanging
