Gettin' Grown (DVD)
With $22 tucked in his sock, 11-year-old Eric (Isaiah Matthew) sets off across the citys rough and tumble streets to pick up his grandmothers prescription. Sounds simple, right? Not when the quick game of b-ball he joins goes into OT! To make up for lost time, Eric heads down the short cut his mother strictly forbade, where he runs into mischievous pals and scheming elders. While Eric struggles to make decisions that will get his grandmothers medicine into his hands, soon night is falling, sirens are blaring and still no success! Director Aaron Greers affecting drama illustrates how the love and support of a close-knit family make Erics day of getting everything wrong into a day of getting it right and Gettin Grown.
