Deep within the earth, magma chambers hold iron-rich rock melt too heavy to reach the surface. The melt within these chambers cools slowly over time, allowing for the growth of large crystals of olivine and plagioclase feldspar. This sample is the traditional example of a phaneritic mafic rock, making it a perfect addition to an identification or classification lab activity. This sample is also available in packs of 12.
