Product Description In a testament to the Bolshoi Ballet legacy, this newly discovered film on DVD, Bolshoi Soloists Classique, features the grace, beauty, and perfect control of Nina Timofeyeva and Mikhail Lavrosky, son of the renowned choreographer Leonid Lavrosky, creating a special program of solos and Pas de Deuxs. Choreographed by Mikhail Fokine as well as the dancers, this production features the enduring and diverse music of George Gershwin, Camille Saint-Saens, Tomaso Albinoni, and Adolphe Adam, and is full of timeless performances in the classic and elegant style of the Soviet ballet tradition. Nina Timofeyeva first trained and performed at the Kirov Ballet, and then entered the Bolshoi Ballet Company in 1961, where she became a principal ballerina for more than two decades. Her grace, beauty and perfect control shine through this unique film, in which she also acts as choreographer. Mikhail Lavrosky also entered the Bolshoi Ballet in 1961, and quickly rose to the leading male dancer in most of the repertory. Lavrosky is known for his exceptional technique, as well as the heroic splendor and penetrating presence he brings to all his roles, from the Prince in Cinderella to the title character in Spartacus.
