Hold the slide with muzzle down on flat firm surface 4. Use a pin punch or small screwdriver to push the black plastic spacer sleeve down toward the muzzle 5. With the tension relieved, remove slide cover plate with your thumb 6. Caution: Removing the slide cover plate exposes spring loaded components. Be sure to keep your thumb over the opening to keep these components in place. 7.
