Easy Propane Refill Tool Instructions 1. Place the BBQ propane tank in the sun for as long as you can (2hrs or more). 2. Place the 1 lb tank in the freezer for 30 mins or more. 3. Make sure the BBQ tank valve is shut off then insert nose tip of the adapter hose into BBQ tank fill connection. 4. Turn the hose adapter counter clockwise to a tight fit. 5. Screw in the 1 lb tank clockwise into the adapter hose. 6. Turn BBQ tank upside down. 7. Slightly open the BBQ tank valve (do not open all the way, just a crack). If you are having issues reaching the valve, slightly tip the tank back to expose the BBQ valve. 8. Allow approximately 10 to 15 mins to fill (it may take longer in somecases). You can control the filling process easily by the green control valve. 9. Simply shut the BBQ valve and remove the 1 lb propane cylinder tank. Your cylinder tank is ready for use! Note: 1 lb tanks that are refilled reach a maximum of 80-90% capacity. No propane tank is completely filled to allow for heat expansion. A quick weight guideline for 1 lb cylinder tanks: Type #1 Tank with Plastic Base (Coleman Type) 80% refill weight goal: 26.66 oz Type #2 Tank with Metal Base 80% refill weight goal: 27.83 oz Troubleshooting: Not getting a full refill? Sometimes it takes longer to refill your tank. It's important to repeat steps 1. and 2. from the instructions before your second attempt. Refill for approximately 30 to 45 mins. The regulator valve in the adapter hose will automatically cut off the flow of gas when a certain pressure is reached to avoid overfilling, so sit back and allow it to fill on its own. Still not working? Attempt to open the BBQ valve all the way when refilling your 1 lb tank following the steps above
