Toguro morphs into an over-muscled monster who makes the Incredible Hulk look scrawny; Yusuke unleashes his incredible spiritual power. Their duel takes almost five episodes to reach its conclusion. The "Dark Tournament" saga felt a lot like a Dragon Ball Z adventure, with characters screaming challenges, ramping up their powers, and punching each other through stone walls. And like Dragon Ball Z, the tone was light enough that no one really minded if characters who were killed in action didn't stay dead. But as the new "Black Chapters Saga" story arc gets underway, the tone of Yu Yu Hakusho grows darker and more violent: humans are being tormented and slaughtered, not just bizarre-looking demons.
