Year of the Horse Lunar New Year Full Sheet of 20 x 34-Cent Postage Stamps USA 2002 Scott 3559

This is the tenth addition to the Lunar New Year Series, issued on February 11, 2002 in New York, NY as a sheet of 20 34-cent stamps. Chinese-American artist Clarence Lee created a paper-cut image of each animal of the zodiac. This sheet features an image of a Horse, calligraphy by Lau Bun that translates in English as "Year of the Horse," and the greeting "Happy New Year!" The Lunar calendar in 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014 is symbolized by the Horse the 7th animal in a 12 animal cycle.
