American Elderberry 'Wyldewood' (Sambucus canadensis hybrid) 'Wyldewood' is a new American Elderberry hybrid with high yields and superior fruit production from its immense flower heads that often reach up to 12" across. Elderberry is well known as an ingredient in wines and jams It is also a great source of vitamin C. Planting another variety of Elderberry will greatly increase the yields. Elderberries yield fruits that are highly nutritious. They are an excellent source of vitamins and antioxidants for humans. Wildlife also enjoy the fruits. Research has shown that the berries from the elderberry can strengthen the immune system to fight viruses. The multi-stemmed shrubs, 8 feet tall and 3 feet wide have landscape interest as well.
