In the weeks leading up to Hope Valley's New Year's Eve celebration, the residents of Hope Valley see some unpredictable resolutions. First of all Abigail (played by Lori Loughlin) resolves to catch someone that has been stealing from her kitchen ' in the process she finds herself caring for two orphans! Elizabeth (Erin Krakow), realizing the Jack's dog Rip has developed a tinge of jealousy, resolves to remedy the situation. Rosemary is bent on winning a San Francisco Herald contest for essayists writing about 'Real Frontier Families.' In the process she ends up posing as Lee's wife for a reporter from the newspaper. All the while Bill Avery tries his best to persuade Jack (Daniel Lessing) that he shouldn't be in jail for counterfeiting.
