The Weiler Vortec Pro type 27 zirconia alumina abrasive flap disc has a phenolic backing for reinforcement and an unthreaded round hole for attachment to grinding tools, and is for use on flat surfaces. The zirconia alumina abrasive is self-sharpening and more durable than aluminum oxide, which makes it suitable for fast material removal rates and aggressive grinding. Applications include weld blending, deburring, deflashing, edge chamfering, stock removal, and grinding and finishing in one step. The disc has a flat surface and is commonly used with right-angle grinders at a 0- to 15-degree angle. It has an unthreaded round hole for attachment to the grinding tool.
