A beautiful flower in a dark wine color that can be grown indoors in pots, window boxes, hanging baskets or outdoors in the garden.
Sow in spring for flowers in summer or in late summer-autumn for flowers in the following spring. If sown in spring, mix seeds with moistened vermiculite, put in a plastic bag, and store in the fridge at 40°F for 2-4 weeks. Loosen the soil in the garden and moisten. Sow ¼ inch deep and water well. Keep the soil moist. Thin to 6-8 inches apart once the seedlings develop. You can also start indoors 10-12 weeks before planting out. Sow ¼ inch deep in a sterile potting mix. Keep the soil at 65-75°F, in complete darkness until sprouting. Then move to a sunny place or use plant lights. Space at 6-8 inches in the garden.
