Product Description Head is forged of American made, high carbon steel, triple zone heat treated, precision machined and polished. Milled face grips nail heads to minimize slipping and flying nails. Extra long hickory handle is triple-wedged into eye with wood and steel wedges. From the Manufacturer CF1 California Framer combines the features of two of their most popular tools, into a rugged, heavy construction hammer. The smoothly swept claws were borrowed from our '999' Rip Hammer, and the extra larger striking face, hatchet eye and sturdy handle are a heritage of our Rigbuilder's Hatchet. The hatchet style handle is best grade, second growth hickory. To provide extra strength, the handle has a large cross section where it joins the fully polished head.
