Trumpeter 1/700 USS South Dakota BB57 Battleship 1945 Model Kit

The USS South Dakota was launched in June 1941 and commissioned in March 1942. In November, 1942, she joined battleship USS Washington and some destroyers to form TF 64. The force was operating southwest of Guadalcanal against a Japanese bombardment group consisted of the one battleship, two heavy cruisers, and a destroyer screen. On January 31, 1947, the South Dakota was placed in reserve, out of commission. She received 13 battle stars for World War II service. This plastic model kit is a highly-detailed, accurate representation of the famous ship.
