Trader Joes Dutch Stroopwafel Caramel Waffle Cookies

Stroopwafeling calls for a very distinctive cookie. First created in the Dutch city of Gouda (yes, that Gouda), Stroopwafels (literally syrup wafels in Dutch) quickly became a national treasure. Our Stroopwafels are made in the Netherlands, honoring this tradition. A dough that’s thicker than typical waffle batters is pressed in a waffle iron and quickly cut in half while still hot. A gooey, stretchy caramel is slathered between the two pieces, forming the most delightful waffle sandwich cookie you’ll ever encounter. (Well, at least that's our opinion.)
