Zucchini have been popular with American gardeners since the 1920s. Black Beauty Summer Squash is an extremely popular and very productive zucchini plant. This variety is appreciated by both home and market gardeners because of its high quality and easy growth. This glossy black-green fruit was the 1957 All America Selections winner. This bush-type plant produces large yields of straight green zucchini that is so dark it is nearly black. The outer surface of this summer squash variation is extremely smooth. It is best harvested when the squash is around 8 inches long. This squash has the added benefit of delicious blossoms that can be beer battered and deep fried as a treat. This is a great zucchini plant that is suitable for smaller gardens. The tender, creamy white flesh has a delicate flavor. It is an excellent zucchini variety for making zucchini bread. This summer squash variation requires full sun and can be planted directly outdoors after the danger of last frost has passed. Like pumpkins, zucchini like to be planted on hills with 2-3 plants in groupings with 3-4 feet between hills. At maturity this plant will be 18-24 inches tall. This variation of zucchini reaches maturity at 50-60 days. 1 Packet: 7g 1 Gram ~ 7-15 seeds 1 Pound ~ 4,000 seeds
