Gun Code (1939, B&W): Millers Flats is in the nefarious grip of The Protectors, a group of frontier gangsters that shoot down any citizen publicly opposing their extortion racket. The killing of Parson Hammond, leaves the people without a leader, until a stranger rides into town vowing to clean things up. That stranger happens to be U.S. Marshal Tim Hammond, the late Parson's son, and he's intent on finishing the crusade his father started. Black Mountain Stage (1941, B&W): Undercover U.S. Marshal Tim Donovan is on the trail of a syndicate whose crime spree is crippling the economy of Black Mountain. He's got a good hunch that local banker Emmett is the ringleader, but Sheriff Clay Matthews thinks that Donovan is involved. Unable to tip Matthews off to his real identity, Donovan will have to keep the sheriff at bay if he wants to capture the real culprit.
