Thomas Fetterman Tornado AIR Crutch Tips with Peace Sign imprint, Fits Canes or Crutches with 3/4 to 1 Inch Diameters, Black, Pair: My goal was to address concerns expressed by a significant number of you, my fellow long-term crutch users. You had the desire for a lighter weight crutch tip to reduce fatigue; a crutch tip that is highly wet-slip resistant; and the need for a Latex Free crutch tip to prevent serious latex allergies. And now, the new Tornado AIR satisfies these issues in one tip. Tornado AIR crutch tips weigh just 2.2 ounces…less than half the weight of most tips! Embedded inside the Tornado AIR tip is a large perforated steel disk that is mechanically bonded to the surrounding envelop. The disk will support great crutch loads and flex without ejecting the disk, making them last longer than ordinary crutch tips. Tornado AIR tips, while not slip proof, compare favorably to our patented proprietary highly wet-slip resistant Tornado Rain Tip tread piece. They imprint Peace Signs with every step when walking on soft surfaces...very cool! The trade-off for our lighter AIR crutch tips is they are less dense than our heavier Tornado Tips (GT), therefore they will not wear as long. I recommend Tornado Tips (AIR) for lighter weight, less active users who will benefit the most by having very lightweight crutch tips. For them, they wear a very long time and are very durable compared to ordinary store-bought crutch tips. About Us: Thomas Fetterman has been using crutches since he contracted polio in 1953. Thomas set out to build a better solution. He created and patented a shock-absorbing crutch tip that absorbs 80% of negative ground impact force and lasts 3-5 times longer than ordinary tips. That was just the start. Thirty years later, the company offers a full line of tips, forearm crutches, canes, and grips. All products are made in the USA using top quality components with over 1 million products sold worldwide.
