CD reissue. Any boy who was at school in the early 1970s will remember the chagrin they felt when all the girls in the class only had eyes for one of a large family of Mormons, who stormed the pop charts both singly and together, and kept up a ceaseless onslaught of sparkly pop music with which it seemed that the entire female population of the United Kingdom (at least those under 15) fell in love with. However, whereas the bands era of greatest commercial success was in the first 4yrs of the 1970s, their career had started over a decade before, when the eldest four began singing as a barbershop quartet for local audiences in and around their hometown of Ogden, Utah. However, their big break came when, after seeing them on a televised Walt Disney special, Andy Williams - the king of light entertainment - booked them on his massively popular television show. The Osmonds Brothers were regulars on the show from 1962 -1969, where they earned the nickname "One-Take Osmonds" amongst staff due to their professionalism and tireless rehearsing. This record gives an invaluable glimpse at the band during those years, and shows the early years of one of the '70s most expansive acts.
