THE SCRIPTURAL STATIONS OF THE CROSS This contemporary version of the Stations of the Cross was inaugurated by Pope John Paul II, at the Colosseum in Rome, on Palm Sunday, 1991. In this modern version, five new stations have been introduced, replacing those from the traditional format with which you might be familiar. Now, in this contemporary version we can reflect on fifteen Stations of the Cross which are based entirely on Holy Scripture. This is an interactive experience where sacred art, text and music combine to help you move from meditation into a deeper contemplation.
