He of course was joined by his longtime love and costar, the sparklingly beautiful Dale Evans. Although it’s easy to write off as silly kids’ stuff, The Roy Rogers Show starred Evans as a strong female figure—she wasn’t a damsel in distress, she was Roy’s equal partner, both on and off the screen.
