Product Description Two-time Oscar(r) winner Milos Forman (Amadeus, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) directs Woody Harrelson, Courtney Love and Edward Norton in this "smart, funny, shamelessly entertaining" film called "ablazing triumph" by the New York Times. Based on the true story of the notorious Hustler publisher who was sued by the Religious Right and paralyzed by a fanatic's bullet, THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT is a stranger-than-fiction comedy about one man's outrageous public persona and eccentric private life. Chronicling Flynt's raunchy business savvy, his wildly unconventional marriage and his infamous courtroom antics, THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT is "the most scintillating and outrageous message movieof the decade. An ultrapop masterpiece!" PLAYBOY MAGAZINE Additional Features Two new, well-produced, 30-minute features anchor this DVD edition of Milos Forman's dandy film. One deals with the making of the film, the other with the life of Larry Flynt. New interviews with the cast members and writers are used along with words from Flynt and, most surprising, Jerry Falwell. Two commentary tracks are worth the time, although the writers' energy and plethora of anecdotes makes for a better listen. The three main actors recorded their commentaries separately, and Courtney Love (natch) has the most to say, but a reunion would have been more fun to listen in on. Oddly, Edward Norton states Forman didn't want to do the commentary because he thought folks wouldn't understand his English, but he sounded just fine on the Amadeus commentary. Two minor deleted scenes are also included. --Doug Thomas
