This ready to hang, matted framed art piece features a woman arranging food on a table. Johannes Vermeer (31 October, 1632 - 15 December, 1675), a Dutch artist, was a moderately successful provincial genre painter in his lifetime, well known for his treatment of light and use of expensive pigments. Though he faded into obscurity following his death, he was rediscovered in the 19th century in an essay, written by Gustav Friedrich Waagen and Theophile Thore-Burger, which attributed sixty-six paintings to him and he is now considered one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age. An 11x14 giclee print under acrylic in a 16x20 black frame. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating museum quality fine art reproductions. This high quality print is matted using antique white matting and comes in a black frame. A clear acrylic facing is added to protect the print. The piece is fully assembled by professional framers and comes ready to hang. The antique white mat allows the image to really stand out, making it a great addition to any space.
