Justice is a card symbolizing truth and fairness in its upright position while representing dishonesty and a lack of accountability in its reversed position. For this card, we decided that the Grim Reaper would be the best representation of unbiased justice. The Grim Reaper is a symbol of death, yes, but he is not the decision-maker. He does the bidding of the universe, coming for people only when their time on Earth is through. He is a blind symbol of the universal law and order of life and death. Here, he sits on a throne in front of a tattered purple veil that is hung between two pillars. The color purple signifies compassion, and the pillars signify balance and structure. In his right hand, he holds a double-edged scythe. This represents impartiality, logic, and the ideology that all our actions carry consequences. He holds the scythe upwards to express finality. In his left hand, he holds an hourglass. This represents impartiality once again. Over his left shoulder, there sits an owl, a symbol of intuition and wisdom. On his chest lies a white marking in the shape of a square. This square symbolizes thoughts that are well-ordered and clear. Below his robes, one of his bony, white feet is revealed, expressing the spiritual consequences of ones actions.
