Product Description
Why Hartford, Connecticuts CABLE are not a household name at least in households familiar with Unsane and Quicksand is a mystery that may never be solved. The veteran noisy rockers worked the scene for a dozen years, releasing records on labels such as Hydra Head, Translation Loss, Doghouse and touring alongside bands like Isis, Today is the Day, and 5ive.
CABLE entered Studio G in Brooklyn, NY in March to record a new full-length album with Joel Hamilton (Unsane, Tom Waits, Book of Knots). The album, entitled The Failed Convict, features hand-drawn artwork by Aaron Horkey (Pelican, Mogwai) and will see an August 18th release via THE END RECORDS.
"I think I speak for everyone in Cable in saying that recording with Joel was truly a remarkable experience, and one we'll never forget, says Szalaj. This is the most intensive album we have ever done. We have been writing it for almost a year, which is the most work and dedication we have ever put forth for a record and, it may sound cliché, but personally we all feel it is the strongest Cable material to date.
Review
" Rumbles forward on a foundation of pure passion and anger... dripping in authenticity. --Lambgoat
A full-fledged salvo of the club-footed hardcore the band favoured before morphing into the disjointed doom rock their later years. --Exclaim.ca
There are a lot of bands out there, but only a few that really make a lasting impression... Such is the case with Connecticut s Cable. --Stonerrock.com
