Legends never die! The Adventures of Robin Hood tell the tale of the legendary 12th Century outlaw who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. Robin of Locksley, loyal to King Richard and arch foe of the Sheriff of Nottingham and cruel Prince John, became Robin Hood. He and his band of Merry Men, living in the Sherwood Forest, were forced to protect England from Prince John while King Richard was away at the Crusades. On the air from 1955-1959, The Adventures of Robin Hood starred Richard Greene as Robin Hood and featured many well-known actors, including Donald Pleasence, Paul Eddington, Bernadette O'Farrell and Peter Asher as the young Prince Arthur. Shot at Nettleford Studios and the surrounding countryside in England, the show was innovative for its time. Each episode was produced in four days and held a high standard for its writing, employing blacklisted writers who wrote under various aliases. Charmingly sincere and swashbuckling, The Adventures of Robin Hood has entertained generations of children and adults with its tales of chivalry and honor.
