How To Fix A Leaking: Place fitting and check leaks After replacing the rubber washer, place the fitting back and check for leaks. When you have a leak, then you will want to take the fitting back off and check for the reason for leaking. Use brush and clean inside fitting By using the brush, clean inside the fitting. Sometimes there can be dirt and debris located inside the fitting which could be the reason for leaking. Use towel and dry the fitting This is a critical step. Now you will want to dry off both ends of the fitting using a towel. Use Teflon tape Cover the thread section using the Teflon tape and wrap the tape around the garden in a clockwise direction. Remember, the tape should wrap around the hose threads  at least  twice. Check for leaks You will then want to test the fitting. When you have a leak, then you must repeat the process and use lots of layers of Teflon tape on the threads to make sure it can give a tight fixing.
