Product description Star Trek Vi: The Undiscovered Additional Features The Special Edition DVD of Star Trek VI includes two scenes that were not in the theatrical cut but were released on VHS: a briefing with the president of Earth (Rene Auberjonois, who would later play Odo in , appears) and a scene in the Enterprise-D's torpedo bay. Those who admire Nicholas Meyer's contributions to the even-numbered films in the series will enjoy his commentary track with cowriter Denny Martin Flinn. As he did on The Wrath of Khan, he talks about being an outsider to the series, the tight budget, and his nautical approach. He also discusses how Kirstie Alley was unable to reprise her role as Savik, and the then-new CGI technique created Klingon blood bubbles. The second disc offers over three very watchable hours of new and vintage interviews, featurettes, and promotional material, including a tribute to the late DeForest Kelley that shows clips of him in the old Westerns he loved. Sharp-eyed (and picky) Trekkers will notice that the disc 2 artwork is actually an upside-down scene from the next film in the series, Generations.
