The Spear & Jackson traditional secateurs set is ideal for both Serious & amateur gardeners alike, & contains traditional style bypass & anvil secateurs to take care of the majority of light pruning tasks in your garden or allotment. The bypass secateurs utilize a scissor like cutting action which is best suited to use on living or 'green' Stems & delivers a cleaner cut than the anvil style secateurs which use a knife like cutting action onto the flat anvil. Anvil secateurs are ideal for use on thicker, or dead 'woody' Material, but will crush or distort the cut when used on green stems. The drop forged blades provide strength & durability & can be resharpened to further extend the life of the tools. Both secateurs are finished with non-slip grips.
