Product Description Simple, elegant, functional -- the Pyramid Carving Board in maple is all that and more. This beautiful board is a generous 15" x 21" and a sturdy 3/4" thick. It features a groove to contain carving juices and protect your counter or table. The incised pyramids are more than decorative -- they help hold your entree centered on the board, avoiding slips and potential accidents. Need a prep board instead? Simply flip it over and use the flat side for kneading, chopping, etc. Hand-sanded, and finished with a food safe oil. Amazon.com Generously-sized and sturdily constructed, this rectangular board secures and carries a large London Broil or pork roast to the table for carving and serving. The board measures 21 by 15 inches with a thickness of 3/4 inch and has a rectangular section of wood in its center that is carved with a series of pyramids. The pyramids grip the meat to hold it steady for serving and carving. A 1/2-inch-wide channel along the edges of the board catches any meat juices before they overflow onto a tabletop or cloth. The opposite side of the board is smooth and can be used as a secondary prep surface for chopping vegetables or kneading bread dough. This environmentally-sustainable product is created from reclaimed maple that has been carefully selected for quality and purchased from mills throughout the country. The board is then hand-crafted by skilled woodworkers in Wisconsin--an area known for its rich woodworking tradition. Wood is hand-sanded and finished with a food-grade oil to protect it against cracking and warping. This wood is easy on knife blades and won?t contribute to their dulling. Periodic treatment with wood oil (Snow River?s own brand is recommended) and hand washing and drying will keep this carving board in good-as-new condition. --Cristina Vaamonde
