Generally they come in shades of pink, peach, white and yellow, and will bloom a least 2 or 3 times each year, although the cycle is unpredictable and seems to be controlled by temperature light. They are semi tropical, but are frequently grown in colder zones as potted plants that are over-wintered indoors.

The slightly green toned, stark white flowers are made of up of several distinctly separated large, ruffled, single petals that fall from a single sepal, ending in sharp pointed short whiskers.
