Shea Moisture is the legacy of Sofi Tucker, a pioneering mother of four and an entrepreneur, who sold shea butter, African black soap, and other homemade beauty preparations in Sierra Leone starting in 1912. We honor her vision by continuing to make a range of products with Fair Trade and organic raw shea butter handcrafted by women in Africa. With every purchase you show support of our mission to reinvest back in our communities.
We do not test on animals. Our products, including our curly hair shampoos, conditioners, and masks, are made without parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, or sulfates. Our packaging contains a minimum of 25% post-consumer resin.
