Simply twist these on to any standard canning jar and you have a beautiful solar lantern. Our solar lids have a photocell that will automatically turn the lights on at sunset and will also turn them off at dawn to recharge during the day. Many solar lanterns use batteries that aren't replaceable, even though rechargeable batteries sometimes require replacement. Our lids use a standard AAA rechargeable battery. The battery will last for years but in the event that it needs to be changed, its a simple swap. Similar lids don't have this feature so once the battery dies, you have to toss the entire module.
