Acer x shirasawanum 'Sensu' A cross between shirasawanum and a palmatum. Sensu means "folding fan". Leaves come out like a fan in a washed orange color with hues of green. As time goes on, the leaves turn a nice pleasant light green then Crimson fall color. Tree is good for narrow spaces since the habit is rather slender. 7-8 ft. Very distinct and attractive. A must for the collector. Requires partial shade with well drained soil. Companion Plants: Goes well with 'Bloodgood' and 'Beni Schichihenge' Japanese Maples as well as Variegated Hakone Grass.
