A counted cross stitch pattern of penelope, the wife of Odysseus, imagined as a woman of the artist's period (Victorian). She is wearing an elegant gray dress with a train, and standing beside a paneled wall. Her head is bent over the tapestry she is stitching. Red and yellow tapestry yarn and a picture in a turquoise frame on a small table are bright spots. This is a portion of the full painting, which we also offer as MAR008. (1868). This pattern is solidly stitched. Any color fabric may be used.
