A counted cross stitch pattern of two voyageurs, a man and a boy, floating a canoe carrying furs and a pet fox or cat along a quiet stretch of the Mississippi River. French traders traveled widely in the American west in the early 19th century, trading for fur pelts with the Indians or trapping on their own account, enjoying their freedom and only returning to St. Louis to sell their goods when they had a full load of skins. (Hudson River School, 1845) This pattern is solidly stitched. Any color fabric may be used.
