Saint Francis of Assisi Prayer T-Shirt

Francis is one of the most venerated religious figures in history. Pope Gregory IX canonized Frances in 1228. Along with St Catherine of Siena, he was designated Patron Saint of Italy. He later became the Patron Saint of Animals, ecology and the natural environment. Catholic and Anglican Churches hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day in October. In 1219 he went to Egypt to end the conflict of the Crusades. Francis had great devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Eucharist in the Sacrifice of the Mass. St Frances arranged the first Nativity Scene for Christmas in 1223. St Francis died while listening to a reading of Psalm 141,142.
