Rope King HBP 12250 Hollow Braided Poly Rope 1 2 x 250

The Rope King HBP-12250 hollow braided poly rope measures 1/2" in diameter by 250' long, and is suitable for use in boating, water skiing, wake boarding, camping, anchoring, and docking. Poly (polypropylene) floats and is resistant to water, mold, and rot. The hollow braided construction lacks a core, which allows the rope to be spliced. This rope is yellow in color. Fibrous ropes used for pulling and lifting are made of natural and/or synthetic fiber strands. A combination of characteristics, including material, construction, diameter, length, and breaking strength, give each rope its performance capability. Fibrous rope materials are selected for properties such as strength, flotation, elasticity, and resistance to abrasion, ultraviolet light, and chemical compounds. Hollow braided rope is easily spliced, as it is constructed of eight, 12, or 16 strands with no core. The strands are braided into a circular pattern with half of the strands in a clockwise orientation and the other half counterclockwise. The breaking strength for fibrous rope is the strength at which new rope will fail under a stationary load. Breaking strength is not considered safe working load (SWL) limit.
